Meet Our Doctors
Dr. Walter Gregg
Dr. Gregg grew up in Charleston and received his undergraduate degree from Clemson. He then received his DVM from the University of Georgia in 1979. In 1985, he became a diplomate of the American Board of Veterinary Practitioners, and is currently one of three ABVP canine and feline diplomates in the state of
South Carolina. Diplomate status requires recertification every 10 years and he has since recertified in 1995 and 2005. He opened Gregg Animal Hospital in 1987. Dr. Gregg's areas of special interest include cardiology, dermatology, soft tissue surgery, and minimally invasive surgery.
He has been married to Paula Hall of Mt. Pleasant since 1977, and together they have three sons and two grandchildren. Their two oldest sons, Boyd and Will are both graduates of Spring Valley High School and Clemson University and are practicing engineers. Their youngest son, Stephen, is a recent graduate from Blythewood High School and is now attending Clemson University. Dr. Gregg enjoys many outdoor activities, most notably, salt water fishing, upland bird hunting, and farming.

Dr. Jeff Will
Dr. Will was born in St. Louis Missouri in1959. He graduated from Lindbergh High School in 1977 and attended the University of Missouri – Columbia from 1977 – 1984. In May of 1984, he graduated from the College of Veterinary Medicine. He Joined MacDonald Veterinary Hospital Inc. in 1984 and was a partner in the practice from 1984 until 2003. Dr. Will joined South Carolina Veterinary Emergency Care in August of 2001 as an associate Veterinarian until July of 2008. We welcomed him to the Gregg Animal Hospital team as an associate Veterinarian in January 2009.
Dr. Will has a life-long interest in the Boy Scouts of America as an Avid Cub Scout, Scout, Explorer and adult Scouter. He became an Eagle Scout in January of 1974 and has served as an adult leader in many capacities since 1982. Dr. Will enjoys reading, hiking, backpacking and horseback riding. He has two dogs and nine cats.
Dr. Shawn Bierman
Dr. Bierman was born in Clovis, New Mexico and grew up as one of three children in an Air Force family. Dr. Bierman completed his undergraduate and veterinary studies at Iowa State University, graduating in 2006. Upon graduation, he practiced at a small animal and avian clinic in Ankeny, Iowa. He had lived in Iowa since graduating from high school in 1990, and moved to Columbia, SC in July 2009. Dr. Bierman and his wife, Melissa, have five children, three dogs, and a guinea pig. Dr. Bierman enjoys camping, fishing, and woodworking in his spare time.
